Stops in order
The text version of the route: stops, time at each and the legs between them. Times are estimates, without queues, traffic or swims.
1. Hyams Beach~50 min at the stop
The famous white sand of Hyams Beach village, outside Booderee National Park. On foot, come via the White Sands Walk, a 2.5 km loop from Greenfield Beach picnic area (30 to 90 minutes), then from Chinamans Beach along Cyrus Street through the village to the beach.
Tip: Arrive early: the car park fills. Walk back the same way or on the Scribbly Gum Track. Dolphins are often in the bay, and whales from May to November.

2. Murrays Beach~40 min at the stop
A long beach already inside Booderee National Park. The vehicle pass has applied since 1 August 2024: A$20 a day, concession A$10, two years A$110.
Tip: One day pass covers Murrays, Green Patch, the botanic gardens and Cape St George. Camping includes entry.

3. Green Patch~40 min at the stop
The park's main picnic and swimming beach, with the campground behind the trees. Cape St George is about 15 minutes on from here by car.
Tip: You need a pass even though the entry station is closed: if you didn't buy one in advance, get it online or at the Visitor Centre. Camping at Green Patch is charged separately.

4. Cape St George~40 min at the stop
Ruins of a lighthouse built on the wrong headland in 1860. Point Perpendicular opened in 1889, and in 1922 the Navy demolished Cape St George because the two lights confused ships by day. Bowen Island is in view from the platform.
Worth knowing: The lighthouse was demolished because by day it could be seen together with the new Point Perpendicular light.
Tip: It is a short walk from the car park to the platform. From May to November this is a whale lookout.

5. Booderee Botanic Gardens~50 min at the stop
Botanic gardens inside the same park. There is no separate ticket: the gardens sit inside the vehicle pass.
Worth knowing: From 1951 it was the frost-free annex of the Australian National Botanic Gardens in Canberra. The land was handed back to the Wreck Bay community in 1995, and the gardens became independent in 2000.
Tip: A calm last stop after the wind on the cape. The same A$20 pass lasts for the day.
