Stops in order

The text version of the route: stops, time at each and the legs between them. Times are estimates, without queues, traffic or swims.

  1. 1. Currumbin Beach~40 min at the stop

The ocean beach by the club. The flags come first, then the drive up the valley to the freshwater pools.

Tip: Swim between the flags. If it rained in the morning, the day ends on this beach.

  2. 2. Currumbin Rock Pools~1 h 10 min at the stop

Freshwater pools beside the valley road. Tables, barbecues and toilets. No lifeguards.

Worth knowing: The pools are natural basins in Currumbin Creek, a freshwater swimming hole used long before the theme parks.

Tip: No diving. Stay out of the water in the rain and for three days after it. Dogs on a lead. The cafe is across the road, on Currumbin Creek Road.

Before you go

  • Route times are estimates: walking, driving and a sensible pause at each stop. Add queues, traffic and swims yourself.
  • Prices, timetables and trail status change. Check the venue's official site and the state transport app before you go.
  • On beaches, swim only between the red and yellow flags. Use sun protection even when it is cloudy.
