Stops in order
The text version of the route: stops, time at each and the legs between them. Times are estimates, without queues, traffic or swims.
1. Fern Tree Park~15 min at the stop
The start of the old water race at Huon Road. A playground, a toilet and the wide track Hobart uses to get into the forest after work.
Tip: Park by the Fern Tree Tavern, at 680 Huon Road. It is closed on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday to Sunday the kitchen opens at 11:30. Walk to the waterfall first, then eat.

2. Fern Tree Bower~15 min at the stop
The old picnic spot on the track, with a bridge over Browns River. The turn to the waterfall is here.
Tip: Read the signs if you want the pipeline's history. Dogs have to stay off the side track from here.

3. Silver Falls~20 min at the stop
A short cascade in the tree ferns. This is the reason for the walk. The summit can wait.
Worth knowing: The falls are a short walk from Fern Tree, on the lower slopes of kunanyi / Mount Wellington, in a fern gully on the wet side of the mountain.
Tip: Return the same way. If you want more, the Pipeline Track continues for many kilometres and comes back the same path.

Before you go
- Route times are estimates: walking, driving and a sensible pause at each stop. Add queues, traffic and swims yourself.
- Prices, timetables and trail status change. Check the venue's official site and the state transport app before you go.
- On beaches, swim only between the red and yellow flags. Use sun protection even when it is cloudy.
