Stops in order
The text version of the route: stops, time at each and the legs between them. Times are estimates, without queues, traffic or swims.
1. Bondi Icebergs~50 min at the stop
The ocean pool at the south end of Bondi. An adult is A$10, a child A$7, a family A$30. Lifeguards are on duty in opening hours.
Tip: The pool opens 6am to 7:30pm on weekdays and 6:30am to 6:30pm on weekends. It closes for cleaning on Thursdays, weather permitting. Towel and locker hire are A$5 each. Lunch above the pool at Icebergs Dining Room, 1 Notts Avenue: Mon to Thu and Sun from noon, Fri and Sat lunch from noon and dinner from 6:30pm.

2. Tamarama~15 min at the stop
A short, narrow beach in the gully between Bondi and Bronte. The path runs along the rock right above it, and from there you see how tight the bay is between the headlands: the surf comes in hard, so the flags are not up every day.
Tip: Swim here only when the flags are up. On other days the swim was at Icebergs and the next one is at Bronte.

3. Bronte Baths~40 min at the stop
An ocean pool from 1887 next to Bronte Park, still free to use. Next door are a flagged beach, showers, cafés and a big lawn shaded by fig trees: a good place to finish the walk.
Worth knowing: The Bronte ocean pool opened in 1887 and is one of Australia's oldest public ocean baths. Entry is still free.
Tip: On Wednesdays the pool is being cleaned for a few hours. The bus back to Bondi Junction leaves from the park.

Before you go
- Route times are estimates: walking, driving and a sensible pause at each stop. Add queues, traffic and swims yourself.
- Prices, timetables and trail status change. Check the venue's official site and the state transport app before you go.
- On beaches, swim only between the red and yellow flags. Use sun protection even when it is cloudy.
