Stops in order
The text version of the route: stops, time at each and the legs between them. Times are estimates, without queues, traffic or swims.
1. Organ Pipes~1 h 30 min at the stop
Basalt columns at the end of a short but very steep sealed descent; nearby is the mosaic-like Tessellated Pavement, and 400 m past the creek Rosette Rock, a radial fan of columns. All from one car park.
Tip: Gates 8:30am to 6pm in daylight saving, otherwise until 4:30pm. Allow an hour and a half for both tracks. No wood fires.

2. Brimbank Park~40 min at the stop
A river park on the Maribyrnong on the way back: red gums by the water, rocky escarpments and the Playscape playground. After the Organ Pipes rocks it's just grass and river.
Tip: Gates open 6am to 5:30pm, until 8pm in daylight saving. There's a café at the visitor centre; gas barbecues are free and unbookable.

Before you go
- Route times are estimates: walking, driving and a sensible pause at each stop. Add queues, traffic and swims yourself.
- Prices, timetables and trail status change. Check the venue's official site and the state transport app before you go.
- On beaches, swim only between the red and yellow flags. Use sun protection even when it is cloudy.
