Train to Sandgate. The train home leaves Shorncliffe station, beside the park. 50 cents.

1. Sandgate foreshore~20 min at the stop
Einbunpin Lagoon and the start of Flinders Parade. Sandgate station is a few minutes away, then the path follows the bay.
Worth knowing: Sandgate became Brisbane's seaside resort when the railway arrived in 1882. The pier and foreshore baths belong to that era.
Tip: Take the Shorncliffe line. Fill water here. The pier has little shade.

2. Shorncliffe Pier~40 min at the stop
The 1882 timber pier at the end of Lover's Walk, the path under the cliff. The end looks over the bay islands. Entry is free.
Worth knowing: The pier was built in 1882 as a promenade and a landing for steamers from Brisbane. At 259 m it proved too short for ferries to moor at low tide, so it was extended by 91 m.
Tip: The beach is unpatrolled. Dogs stay on a lead. The train home leaves Shorncliffe station, beside the park.
