Stops in order
The text version of the route: stops, time at each and the legs between them. Times are estimates, without queues, traffic or swims.
1. Mount Lofty Summit~30 min at the stop
The range's high point (727 m) with a lookout over the city and the gulf. There is a cafe and free parking.
Worth knowing: Matthew Flinders named the peak in 1802 after sighting it from the sea. The Flinders Column obelisk at the lookout honours him.
Tip: Mornings are clearer; haze often rolls in off the gulf later.

2. Cleland Wildlife Park~2 h at the stop
A park where kangaroos and wallabies roam free rather than behind fences. The koalas live in the new Koala Loft. Daily 9:30 to 17:00.
Tip: Buy tickets on the park website; last entry 4:30pm. Closed on Christmas Day and catastrophic fire danger days. Because of bird flu the walk-through aviaries are temporarily closed and bird feeding is suspended; kangaroos and koala experiences are running as usual.

Before you go
- Route times are estimates: walking, driving and a sensible pause at each stop. Add queues, traffic and swims yourself.
- Prices, timetables and trail status change. Check the venue's official site and the state transport app before you go.
- On beaches, swim only between the red and yellow flags. Use sun protection even when it is cloudy.
