Getting there
From Whitsunday Coast Airport (Proserpine), the Whitsunday Transit shuttle takes about 40 minutes and meets every Jetstar and Virgin flight. Book ahead online or on 07 4946 1800. The same company runs the local buses around town.

1. Le Kiosk Cafe & Bar~45 min at the stop
A cafe at the north end of Coral Sea Marina: eggs Benedict, cooked breakfasts, smoothies and home baking. Open daily for breakfast and lunch.

2. Lions market on the foreshore~45 min at the stop
Every Saturday the Lions Club fills the Airlie Beach foreshore with about 80 stalls: plants, art, doughnuts, books and clothes.
Tip: Come in the morning: the market winds up by early afternoon and depends on the weather. On other days, swim in the lagoon next door.

3. Whitsunday Sailing Club~1 h 15 min at the stop
Lunch on the point: the sailing club bistro is open to everyone seven days a week. Locals call it the best spot in town.
Tip: Grab a terrace table near the water to watch the yachts come into the bay.

4. Sorrento Bar & Restaurant~2 h at the stop
Italian food in the north marina village: wood-fired pizza, pasta and steak. The upstairs balcony is known as the best sunset seat in Airlie.
Tip: Book a sunset table ahead. For a casual dinner without a booking, try The Garden Bar Bistro in the south marina village.
