Stops in order
The text version of the route: stops, time at each and the legs between them. Times are estimates, without queues, traffic or swims.
1. Watermans Bay~20 min at the stop
A quiet bay at the start of the path. From here you walk south along the reef, past dog walkers and people fishing.
Tip: The beach car park is small. If it is full, start one stop south and walk the same way.

2. Mettams Pool~40 min at the stop
A lagoon behind a rock platform. In summer people snorkel it. In winter they watch the swell pour over the reef.
Worth knowing: The pool is a reef-sheltered swimming hole in Marmion Marine Park, on the coast north of Perth.
Tip: Get in only when the swell is small. It is the ocean, even when it looks like a pool from above.

3. Trigg Beach~30 min at the stop
The end of the walk at the point, where the surf and the lifeguards start. Coffee by the club if your legs are done.
Tip: Swim between the flags. The path is shared. Cyclists move quickly, so keep your side.

Before you go
- Route times are estimates: walking, driving and a sensible pause at each stop. Add queues, traffic and swims yourself.
- Prices, timetables and trail status change. Check the venue's official site and the state transport app before you go.
- On beaches, swim only between the red and yellow flags. Use sun protection even when it is cloudy.
