Stops in order
The text version of the route: stops, time at each and the legs between them. Times are estimates, without queues, traffic or swims.
1. Lorne Visitor Information Centre~20 min at the stop
The start is at 15 Mountjoy Parade. Pick up a walk map here and ask whether the beach is patrolled today.
Tip: The rest is on foot: the beach first, then the pier.

2. Lorne Beach~40 min at the stop
The town beach under the gums. In summer people swim between the flags. In winter it is a promenade.
Tip: With children, swim only between the flags. Along the rest of the Great Ocean Road the surf is more dangerous than it looks from the cliff.

3. Lorne Pier~25 min at the stop
The pier at the end of the foreshore. The Mountjoy Parade shops are on the way down to it.
Tip: Walk back the same way. Erskine Falls needs a car from here. After the January 2026 floods only the upper lookout is open. The steps to the base are closed.

Before you go
- Route times are estimates: walking, driving and a sensible pause at each stop. Add queues, traffic and swims yourself.
- Prices, timetables and trail status change. Check the venue's official site and the state transport app before you go.
- On beaches, swim only between the red and yellow flags. Use sun protection even when it is cloudy.
